• High-Performance Exchange — The off-chain order book and matching engine that handles trade execution with millisecond latency and deterministic sequencing.

• Smart Contracts — On-chain contracts deployed on the Katana blockchain that custody user funds, enforce trade authorization, and settle all transactions.

Each component plays a distinct role. The exchange handles the speed-critical work of matching orders, while the smart contracts handle the trust-critical work of holding funds and enforcing rules. Together, they deliver centralized-exchange performance with decentralized security.
