# Points

Katana Perps rewards active participants through a points program. Points track meaningful engagement with the platform and are designed to recognize the traders and contributors who help build real liquidity and sustainable trading activity on Katana Perps.

Season 1 of the Katana Perps Points Program is live.

### Activity Types

Points are earned across three categories of platform engagement:

#### Organic Trading

Points are awarded for genuine trading activity on Katana Perps. The more you trade, the more points you earn.The program is designed to reward authentic market participation rather than artificial volume, so wash trading and self-dealing do not contribute to point accumulation.

#### Sustained Participation

Consistency matters. Traders who remain active across multiple weekly periods unlock benefits that those with sporadic activity don't. Sustained participation rewards users who show up regularly and contribute to ongoing market health, not just one-time volume spikes.

#### Referral Activity

Referring new traders to Katana Perps earns points in addition to the direct USDC referral commissions described in the Referrals section. Points are earned based on the trading activity of referred users, aligning the incentives of the referrer with the long-term growth of the platform.

### Weekly Periods

Points are earned and distributed on a weekly cadence:

| Sprint duration     | 7 days                |
| Activity snapshot   | Thursday at 00:00 UTC |
| Points distribution | Friday at 00:00 UTC   |

Each sprint runs for seven days. At the end of the sprint, an activity snapshot is taken at Thursday 00:00 UTC, capturing all qualifying activity for the period. Points are then calculated and distributed the following day, Friday at 00:00 UTC.

### Seasons

The points program is organized into seasons. Season 0 began at the launch of Katana Perps and ran for 7 weeks. Users received a 700% return on fees paid in season 0. Each season may introduce updated weightings, bonus multipliers, or new activity categories. Season transitions and any changes to the points structure will be announced in advance.
